Duane Allman

Howard Duane Allman was an American guitarist, session musician, and cofounder and leader of the Allman Brothers Band until his death in a motorcycle crash in 1971, when he wasyears old.

Duane Allman was born on November 20, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the eldest son of Willis Allman, a World War II noncommissioned officer turned recruiting officer in the United States Army, and Geraldine Allman . His brother, Gregg, was born on December 8, 1947.
